Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin treatments are designed to address specific facial regions where muscle activity contributes to expression lines and wrinkles. Each treatment area is carefully evaluated based on facial anatomy, muscle strength, and individual aesthetic goals.

We offer treatment with Jeuveau® and Xeomin®, two FDA-approved neuromodulators known for their safety, precision, and natural-looking results.

What is Jeuveau®?

Jeuveau® (prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs) is an FDA-approved injectable neuromodulator used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles, most commonly frown lines (glabellar lines) between the eyebrows.

Jeuveau® is often referred to as a “modern” or “aesthetic-only” neurotoxin because it was developed specifically for cosmetic use.

How Does Jeuveau® Work?

Jeuveau® works by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles that cause expression lines. By reducing muscle movement, the overlying skin appears smoother and more refreshed while still allowing natural facial expression when properly administered.

Common Treatment Areas

Jeuveau® is commonly used to treat:

  • Frown lines between the eyebrows (11 lines)
  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
  • Other facial areas as determined appropriate by a licensed provider

Treatment areas are individualized based on facial anatomy and aesthetic goals.

When Will I See Results?

  • Initial results may appear within 2–5 days
  • Full results typically develop within 7–14 days
  • Results generally last 3–4 months, though this may vary by individual

What to Expect During Treatment

  • Treatment typically takes 10–15 minutes
  • Minimal discomfort; a small needle is used
  • No downtime for most patients
  • You may resume normal activities shortly after, unless otherwise advised

Possible Side Effects

  • Most side effects are mild and temporary. They may include:
  • Redness or swelling at the injection site
  • Mild bruising
  • Headache
  • Temporary muscle weakness near the treated area

Serious side effects are rare. Contact your provider if you experience unusual symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, breathing, or speaking.

Who Should Not Receive Jeuveau®?

Jeuveau® may not be appropriate if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have a known allergy to botulinum toxin products
  • Have a neuromuscular disorder (e.g., myasthenia gravis)
  • Have an active infection at the treatment site

A consultation with a licensed provider is required to determine eligibility.

Important Notes

  • Jeuveau® is FDA-approved
  • Results vary from person to person
  • No specific outcome can be guaranteed
  • Treatment requires medical evaluation and informed consent

What is Xeomin®?

Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved injectable neuromodulator used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles, most commonly frown lines (glabellar lines) between the eyebrows.

Xeomin® is known as a “pure” botulinum toxin, as it is manufactured without accessory proteins, which may reduce the risk of developing resistance over time.

How Does Xeomin® Work?

Xeomin® works by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles that cause expression lines. By reducing muscle movement, the overlying skin appears smoother and more refreshed, while still allowing natural facial expression when properly administered.

Because of its highly purified formulation, Xeomin® delivers precise, predictable results when injected by a qualified provider.
